The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) hosted delegates from the UAE Ministry of Economy, the Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi, strategic partners of health institutions and UAE universities to introduce to students and faculty members the Technology Innovation Pioneers Program (TIP) in healthcare and the TIP Awards. The TIP platform, established in line with international standards, aims to incentivize healthcare innovation in UAE and attract healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs.
The Ministry of Economy and the Department of Economic Development Abu Dhabi introduced the TIP program and presented how students and faculty from colleges of medicine and health sciences can register their healthcare innovations and patents on non-communicable diseases. The awards consist of various categories including cardiovascular diseases prevention, cancer eradication, mother and infant’s health, school health and environmental and professional health.
The TIP Awards allow creative and innovative people from around the world, who have creative, simple or developed ideas and would like to participate in the healthcare challenges to register their projects, provided that they meet certain standards and conditions. These health innovative ideas can then be developed into applicable patents in form of technology-based products accredited according to international health standards.
