Center for China Studies opens at UAEU

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences in China, launched the Center for China Studies at UAEU in an opening ceremony attended by Prof. Hassan Al Naboodah, College of Humanities and Social Sciences’ Dean, a number of scholars from Chinese Academy of Social Sciences and researchers from Zayed University, UAE Diplomatic Academy and other universities.
Prof. Al Nabooda explained that the center is the first of its kind in the GCC countries and aims to enhance research cooperation between the two countries in the field of social sciences and exchange expertise through holding seminars, conferences and exhibitions. This will help students, researchers and businessmen learn Chinese language, culture and literature and strengthen educational and cultural relations between the two countries.
The Center for China Studies will establish a joint council of UAEU and the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences to periodically review updates of the joint development plans and prepare the center’s annual work plan, incorporating activities of mutual interests.
