In the presence of His Excellency the UAEU Chancellor

H.E. Saeed Ahmed Ghobash-Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University stressed the significance of the participation of researchers and faculty members in achieving the UAEU s goals and its strategic vision in foreseeing the future, and has a fundamental role in promoting the culture of future generations. As Scientific research is not only serving future needs, but also developing new horizons around those needs and the structure of knowledge and focus on aspects of the relationship and the pivotal role that the university must play in the future. This came during the annual Convocation of the university community for the academic year 2020/2021, in the presence of the university administration, College s deans, research center directors, and faculty members.

H.E. the UAEU s Chancellor welcomes all UAEU s Community and wishes them the best regards, At this new beginning, it is time to learn from this present experience of disruption and to identify the fundamental elements of our resilience, our adaptability, and our humanity .

These elements are not particular to universities or to UAEU, but have been demonstrated and shared across the country, from the leadership to whom we are forever thankful, to businesses, and our neighbors and family.

He continued; our education not only prepares students for their future roles but extends their capacity as learners and horizons for learning. Our education enables them to set new visions and expectations for their lives. In this academic year, my focus for the UAEU is ensuring that we maintain and improve our university s leadership role. Our attention will be on the UAEU s capacity and productivity to lead the future. I want to make sure that we create and shape new frontiers for what is known, what is anticipated, and what is needed in the future.

Besides, Through the UAEU transformation plan, we developed a new strategy that embraces our strengths - our resilience, adaptability, and human compassion - and directs them towards the future. At the base of UAEU s strategy is a future-oriented vision: to advance knowledge, to serve society, and to develop leaders.

At the heart of it is its mission is to be an innovative, socially-conscious university that generates a community of future leaders by pursuing collaborative research, a learner-centred educational experience and the cultivation of a spirit of entrepreneurship.

Our job this academic year is to aspire to the vision and deliver the mission. We have also initiated a comprehensive programme to raise the operational and financial efficiency of the university and offer world-class services to all of our customers; internal (such as colleges, faculty and employees) and external (such as students, regulators and government entities and research centers). As we have admitted students who are increasingly capable and have higher chances of fulfilling the requirements of their degrees. So the holder of a UAEU degree must be recognized as future-ready and future-capable: having the motivation to learn and adapt them continuously, able to invent and innovate, ready to work with others to build the society's future.

In addition to this, the Curriculum Delivery, as we will reconfigure how we make these programs accessible to the greatest diversity of students. We must use technology for its merits enabling us to be more flexible and nimbler in our offerings, allowing us immediate access to an immense supply of knowledge and information so that the use of technology is for serving the human intellectual.
