UAEU Graduate not allowing life s challenges to derail her

Nada Fadlalla joined United Arab Emirates University in 2001 in hopes of graduating from the College of Science, majoring in biology to go on and become a doctor like her father. This all changed after realizing there are more opportunities to seek and that UAEU has much more to offer. She then transferred to the College of Business and Economics and not long after that the college was accredited internationally by AACSB.

Later, Ms. Fadlalla decided to major in Marketing because she believed that it was her calling at that time. "After majoring in marketing, I realized that this field is massive and there was room to grow in this sector of business, she said. I was lucky to join the business administration society which helped me gain skills along the way and work hand in hand with my colleagues and the college management to provide an array of activities and events to students.

After graduating from college, Ms. Fadlalla was able to go and work for Honeywell ME as part of the logistics and operations department. "I have gained a lot of experience during my time in Honeywell this job provided with additional experience dealing with actual clients and employees within the company. Learned how to be a people's person and was able to apply the skills I've learned from my time as a Marketing student at UAEU, she said.

"I later travelled and settled in the United States and took a break to focus on my family and being a full-time mom. During this time, I was able to take on internships and part time posts". Ms. Fadlalla was able to work for Spectrum Corporation, a telecommunications company as a client support representative. During her job, she was able to learn about the services and products of the company you offer the customers the best service.

Currently after taking a long maternity leave, Ms. Fadlalla decided to not take this break as a disadvantage, but she pushed through and decided to fulfill her career aspirations. She was then offered a position at SAP Concur. SAP Concur deals with simplifying consumers life's by offering solutions for travel bookings, expense and invoice handling. "My employers were really impressed by degree and the work experience I've have gained. I'm currently working in implementation and client support this position is challenging but I'm up for it. The best thing about working here is that there's room to grow within the organization. I really can't wait for what the future holds for me, she said.

Ms. Fadlalla is currently working on receiving her certificate in digital marketing from Colombia University. She is currently undergoing her master's, as it'll open up more academic opportunities and career advancements in the future. "My advice is to keep on going and to always find the next best thing. Make mistakes along the way it's the only way to learn and thrive. Always know that it's never too late to start something new!!
