BIOGRAPHY
Dr Amir Ahmad is an Associate Professor with the College of Information Technology. Prior to the current position, he was an Assistant Professor with the Faculty of Computing and Information Technology, King Abdulaziz University, Rabigh, Saudi Arabia for 6 years. There, he also served as the Chairman of the Computer Science Department for 4 years. From 1996-2006, he worked as a Research Scientist with the Solid State Physics Laboratory, Defense Research and Development Organization, Delhi, India. Dr. Amir earned his PhD from University of Manchester in 2010. He has published more than 40 research papers in the field of machine learning and nanotechnology. He has earned funding for several projects as a PI/co-PI.
For prospective PhD students
Applications are invited for the post of PhD student (fully funded) to join the research project titled “Development of machine learning and deep learning algorithms for imbalanced and one-class classification problems”.
The successful applicant will be a full-time PhD student enrolled in the University’s PhD program and will participate in teaching, research, and/or administrative activities. The position will start from Jan 2022.
