BIOGRAPHY
With a BA in Law from the University of Jordan, and both an LLM in Commercial Law and a PhD in Computer Law from Aberdeen University in the UK, Dr Dahiyat has developed a broad range of research interests that all have a legal focus – including Commercial Law, artificial intelligence, and IT law – and, since 2014, he has been pursuing these at UAEU. Before joining UAEU, Prof. Dahiyat was the Dean of the Faculty of Law at Al albayt University in Jordan. His scholarly work has appeared in leading law journals, including Artificial Intelligence and Law (Springer), Computer Law and Security Report (Oxford-Elsevier), and International Journal of Law and Information Technology (Oxford University Press). He received the UAEU Award for publishing in the Top 2% of Scopus Journals in the academic year 2022-2023. He also received the College Awards for Excellence Service in 2019 and was awarded the UAEU merit allowance in 2021.
In 2021, Prof. Dahiyat became a member of the UAE Committee for drafting the Commercial Transactions Law No. (50) of 2022. Since 2021, Prof. Dahiyat has been participating with the Commission for Academic Accreditation (CAA) as a reviewer for many law programs in UAE universities.
