BIOGRAPHY
Mohamed El Bachraoui received his Master of Science in Mathematics from Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam in 1998 where he also earned his Ph.D. in mathematics in 2002. He did two years of postdoctoral research: in 2003-2004 at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and in 2004-2005 at the University of Berne in Switzerland. From 2005 to 2007 he worked as an assistant professor at the Al Akhawayn University of Ifrane in Morocco. He joined the United Arab Emirates University in 2007. His current research is in number theory and basic hypergeometric series. His contributions to this area include the publication of journal articles in refereed journals and presentations at international conferences. He taught many Mathematics courses at both undergraduate and graduate levels. As for service, he was active in many committees (department, college, or community) either as a member or as a coordinator.
