BIOGRAPHY
Professor.
BSc and MSc in Nuclear Engineering from Alexandria University, Egypt, in 1991 and 1994, respectively; PhD in Nuclear Engineering from North Carolina State University, Raleigh, NC, USA, in 2000. He spent the period from October 2000 to February 2004 with the Center for Energy Research, University of California San Diego as a visiting scholar where he joined the ARIES team working on the IFE chamber physics and engineering. His current research interests include:
* Applied nuclear physics and nuclear engineering
* Computational physics and hydrodynamic simulation
* Physics of dense plasmas and controlled nuclear fusion
* Interaction of radiation with matter
* Modern launch technology and electrothermal-chemical propulsion
* pulsed power and laser matter interaction
