July 14, 2026
The College of Education at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized the
third edition of the 2026 Summer Camp for School Students, welcoming 30 participants
as part of its commitment to its leading community role by providing an interactive
and educational environment during the summer break. The camp aims to develop participants'
skills while offering hands-on training opportunities for College of Education students,
supporting their professional readiness and enhancing their academic learning outcomes.
Dr. Ahmed Alkaabi, Assistant Dean of the Student Affairs Office, said: "This summer camp reflects the college's vision of preparing qualified educational professionals by providing internship opportunities for our students to practice in a real-world learning environment. It enables them to apply their theoretical knowledge and gain practical experience in designing and delivering educational activities and engaging with children. At the same time, the camp offers a unique educational experience that contributes to developing children's skills and knowledge while strengthening the university's engagement with the community."
The camp features a comprehensive program comprising seven themes: culture, science, engineering, chemistry, physics, sports, and physical wellness, in addition to a variety of interactive activities designed to foster creativity, curiosity, and exploration while promoting teamwork and collaboration among children. The program reflects the university's commitment to providing an innovative and inclusive educational experience.
The program also includes educational visits to laboratories and academic facilities across UAEU, introducing participants to modern scientific applications and enriching their learning by connecting theoretical concepts with hands-on experiences in an engaging educational environment. These experiences help nurture scientific curiosity and encourage learning through exploration.
The camp will conclude on July 23, 2026, with the "Year of Family Carnival" at Zayed Central Library, where children and their families will enjoy a day of interactive activities, workshops, and family games. The event aims to strengthen family bonds while reflecting UAEU's commitment to promoting family values and community engagement through initiatives that contribute to building a cohesive and sustainable society.
