As part of its Golden Jubilee celebrations under the theme “Rooted Legacy… and a Promising Future,” the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) hosted the seventh session of its Academic Dialogues Initiative, titled “Artificial Intelligence: From Strategy to Applications.” The session was held in the presence of H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi, Vice Chancellor of UAEU, and brought together academics, experts, and specialists. The event aligns with the university’s ongoing efforts to advance digital transformation and strengthen its position as a leading academic institution in innovation and artificial intelligence.
H.E. Prof. Ahmed Ali Al Raeesi affirmed that artificial intelligence has become a fundamental pillar in the development of higher education and scientific research systems. He noted that UAEU is committed to leveraging advanced technologies to enhance the quality of education, foster innovation, and prepare national talents capable of meeting future demands, in line with the UAE’s national strategies for artificial intelligence and digital transformation.
The session explored ways of integrating artificial intelligence into the university’s institutional strategy through the advancement of policies, enhancement of governance frameworks, and development of human and technical capabilities. Discussions focused on supporting the adoption of AI applications across academic and administrative sectors.
Participants also highlighted prominent AI applications within the academic environment and examined their role in advancing teaching, research, and university services. In addition, the session addressed key challenges, future opportunities, and best practices related to the implementation of artificial intelligence in higher education institutions.
The session forms part of the Academic Dialogues series organized by UAEU to promote academic exchange and constructive dialogue on contemporary issues and emerging trends in higher education and scientific research, while fostering the sharing of knowledge and expertise among scholars and specialists.
