Information about exams and University Foundation courses
Students are considered exempted from all English courses if they achieve one of the following conditions:
Cohort 2017 & before must achieve the following minimum scores: 500 in TOFEL ITP, 61 in TOFEL IBT, 5.0 in IELTS, 1100 in EmSAT English
Cohort 2018 & after must achieve the following minimum scores: 525 in TOFEL ITP, 70 in TOFEL IBT, 5.5 in IELTS, 1250 in EmSAT English
Cohort 2019

Students scoring EmSAT 1250 or above are directly admitted to their college.

Students scoring English EmSAT between 1100 and 1225 might be conditionally admitted to the university.

ENGU 120 will be offered to all conditionally admitted students with EmSAT (1100 – 1150)

ENGU 130 will be offered to all students who passed ENGU 120 and all conditionally admitted students with EmSAT English score between 1175 – 1225
Conditionally admitted status will change, if students score EmSAT 1250 or equivalent, or pass the UAEU Exit English exam after passing ENGU 130
IELTS certificates are accepted from UAE University, all HCT in UAE, Zayed University, Abu Dhabi University & Wollongong University (Dubai Branch) and IDP or British Council accredited centers in the UAE.

ENGU 1401 and ENGU 1402 classes courses will be offered to Cohort 2018 students and before, for the last time in the 1st Quarter of Fall 2019 semester”

- Students can take MATU120 concurrently with MATU 130.
- MATU 110 is a prerequisite for MATU 120 & MATU 130.
- Students will be exempted from all MATH courses, if they score at least 1000 in EmSAT.
Cohort 2018
- Students scoring 900 or more in EmSAT Mathematics, are exempted from all MATH Courses.
- Students scoring EmSAT Mathematics (0 – 300) will register for Algebra Course MATU 110.
- Students scoring EmSAT Mathematics (301 – 600) will register for College Algebra Course MATU 120.
- Students scoring EmSAT Mathematics (601 – 899) will register for Trigonometry Course MATU 130.

ARBU 140 is offered to all newly enrolled students except those who achieved at least 5.5 in Arabic Proficiency Test, or at least 900 in Arabic EmSAT or at least 60 in the placement exam, which is offered by the Developmental Instruction Unit (DIU)

ARBU 140 is a prerequisite for Emirates Studies & Islamic Culture Courses and all Arabic Courses at the Humanities and Social Sciences College.

All Arabic courses are no longer required for non-Arabic speakers

ARBU 150 is a required course for all students admitted to the College of Law, regardless of their scores in EmSAT Exam.
