The United Arab Emirates University was established in 1976 by a decision of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may God rest his soul, and aspires to be a comprehensive research university. Being the leading university in the United Arab Emirates, it provides a variety of high-quality and accredited undergraduate and graduate programs. These programs are offered into 9 colleges: Business and Economics, Education, Engineering, Food and Agriculture, Humanities and Social Sciences, Information Technology, Law, Medicine & Health Sciences, and Sciences. With distinguished elite of international faculty, a new and state of the art campus, and a full range of services that provide support to students, the university provides an educational environment unparalleled in the United Arab Emirates.
As part of its pursuit of an international research position, the United Arab Emirates University works with its partners in the industrial sector to provide research solutions to the challenges facing the local, regional and international community. The university has established a number of research centers of strategic importance for the country and the region, which deal with topics related to important issues in the UAE and countries of the region, such as water resources, cancer treatment, the National Space Science and Technology Center, the Sheikh Zayed Center for Health Sciences and other research centers. Academic programs at the United Arab Emirates University are designed in partnership with employers, to ensure the employment of a larger segment of university graduates, and many graduates of the United Arab Emirates University occupy senior positions in the government, industry, and trade sectors in the region.
