Overview
The Department of Accounting is synonymous with excellence in accounting education
and research in the UAE and aspires to be a leading global center for accounting and
financial thought in the wider GCC and the MENA regions.
We are committed to educating the next generation of Accounting, Auditing Professionals,
expertly guiding our students through the challenges that come with continuous technological
development.
The Department is the first AACSB- Accredited Accounting department in the GCC and MENA regions. AACSB Accreditation is the hallmark of excellence in
business education, and has been earned by less than 5% of the world's business schools.
Furthermore, our Bachelor of Accounting program is accredited by the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (ACCA) and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW), and has also received endorsement from the Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) for its alignment with the Certified Management Accountant (CMA) certification. With these prestigious recognitions, our accounting students can accelerate their progress toward ACCA, ICAEW, and CMA professional qualifications.
Our undergraduate and postgraduate programs provide the practical and theoretical
knowledge necessary for navigating and providing management and leadership of the
complex global world of business; and helps students to develop the skills needed
for active participation in society beyond graduation.

The accounting faculty comprises a diverse and internationally engaged academic community,
with a significant number of members holding academic positions and qualifications
from institutions worldwide.
Faculty members consistently publish in leading, internationally recognized journals,
reflecting the high quality, visibility, and global relevance of their research.
They actively contribute to the advancement and governance of the accounting discipline
by serving on editorial boards and regularly participating as peer and external reviewers
for prestigious international journals. This commitment is further demonstrated through
their leadership roles and active involvement in top-tier journals and major global
accounting conferences.
Research relevance and societal impact are strengthened by consistently securing competitive
external funding from internationally recognized professional bodies and research
centres affiliated with leading global universities, including the Institute of Chartered
Accountants in England and Wales (UK), University of California, Berkeley (USA), Boston
