Workshop Description
PhD is a stepping stone for a better job. While it is normal that when one enters into a PhD program, one does not know where the first job is waiting. Hence, awareness and proactivity are critical in narrowing down paths that will lead to your first job. It is this first job that sets the stage for where you will eventually end (or not end). How prepared you are for this future prospect during our PhD? What preparatory steps you must take/consider that will make you better equipped with choices and make you the preferred candidate for the first job? Should you leave the issue to be tackled during the last 6 months of your PhD or should this be on your mind soon into your PhD journey? We will chart out the ‘how’ and ‘what needed’ so that you can carve a better future for yourself.
Resources
Just come with your thoughts about job preparedness and share them with us. If you have a plan in mind, we will carefully listen to it and will attempt to make it better; If you don’t have a plan we will make sure that at least you get serious about it and start taking a few concrete steps.
