Workshop Description
This workshop helps graduate students who need training in CFD using ANSYS software. The workshop will cover the following topics:
- Introduction to ANSYS: applications, governing equations, choosing a proper work station for simulation.
- Geometry: how to transfer and import models from other engineering software such as Solidworks, Catia, etc.
- Mesh generation: how to choose a proper mesh for the test model; how to decrease the number of elements and stud mesh independent analysis.
- How to apply boundary conditions.
- How to choose a proper model for a computation (Laminar, Turbulent, etc.)
- How to run the calculation.
- Choosing acceptable convergence absolute criteria.
- How to converge results.
- Data Analysis: plotting graphs, figures and saving data.
The topics above will be presented and students will be able to calculate 3D problems in ANSYS fluent.
