Target Audience
This workshop is for graduate students (Masters/Doctorate), research assistants and postdocs. Undergraduate students involved with any research project, such as SURE projects OR Senior Project are most welcome. Furthermore, anyone interested in learning how to make a captivating, concise, and impactful brief talk about a poster or even thesis/dissertation is welcome to attend.

Workshop Description
Elevator pitch for your research
- What is an elevator pitch?
- Why has it to short? What are the key elements for an elevator pitch?
- Video recording of your elevator pitch followed by brief discussion
- Final recording of a revised elevator pitch (comparison for self-assessment)
Resources
Be ready with a text that equates to 3 min. summary of your research. PLEASE COME PREPARED with the text written and more or less memorized. After a 15-20 min presentation by the workshop leader, your talk will be recorded on a smartphone. Discussions will then take place on potential improvement(s). Lastly, a final recording of the revised ‘elevator talk’ will take place before the session concludes. The session will be interactive; therefore proactive participation is strongly encouraged.
