Target Audience
This workshop is for graduate students (Masters/Doctorate) in the field of Business, Education, Law, Humanities and Social Sciences. Undergraduate students involved with any research project, such as SURE projects, or those who are interested in the research process more generally are encouraged to attend. It is open to anyone interested in developing research proposals and/or conducting scholarly research.

Workshop Description
This workshop is aimed to help students with the following activities: (i) distinguish academic research from consulting or general problem solving, (ii) explain what “the literature” is, (iii) use the literature to come up the ideas for your own research, (iv) explain how research ideas can be made relevant to other academic researchers and add to knowledge, (v) write a research proposal, and (vi) use a research proposal as a “living document” to guide and review your own research.
