A brief description of the event:
The Student Academic Success Program (SASP) is hosting a one-day symposium on ‘Student Writing: Innovations and Transformations’. The aim of this event is to give writing teachers, writing tutors and writing program / center administrators an opportunity to present, discuss and collaborate on issues related to the teaching, tutoring and learning of writing in diverse learning contexts.
Participating institutions include the American University of Sharjah, Khalifa University of Science and Technology, the American University of Dubai and King Saud University.
Keynote Speaker
SASP is delighted to welcome Dr Lynne Ronesi, Associate Professor in the Department of Writing Studies at the American University of Sharjah (AUS), as keynote speaker. Since 2006, Dr Ronesi has been teaching writing and training the AUS undergraduate writing center tutors. Prior to that, Dr Ronesi directed the writing center at Al Akhawayn University in Morocco. Her publications on tutor training, writing fellows, and writing-in-the disciplines appear in the Writing Center Journal and Across the Disciplines as well as in a number of edited collections. Most recently, Dr. Ronesi co-edited Emerging Writing Research from the Middle East-North Africa Region (The WAC Clearinghouse / University Press of Colorado, 2017).
