The Finance and Economics Club in the College of Business and Economics organized a ‘Finance and
Economics Day’ to introduce students to the job vacancies at the participating organizations as well as
majors required to meets the job market needs. Participating organizations included Abu Dhabi Central
Bank, National Bonds, AXA Insurance, Dubai Financial Market, Finance House, and the Department of
Economic Development, among many others.
UAEU in collaboration with Mubadala organized the “Mubadala Aerospace University Roadshow” for
engineering students to showcase the increased level of activity and job opportunities in the Aerospace
Industry.
The Center for Career Planning and Placement (CCPP) organized the National Electronic Security
Authority (NESA) Career Day at UAEU where they presented their career opportunities to UAEU
students.
Additionally the CCPP offers a large number of job opportunities for UAEU students and alumni through
its job posting tool, ‘The Job Navigator’. Since May 2012, the Job Navigator has offered over 1,146
vacancies for UAEU graduates at 101 partner organizations.
Information Resources
In collaboration with our technology partner (Microsoft), UITS provided the availability of Microsoft
DreamSpark program which enables students, educators and academic institutions to gain access to
Microsoft software for learning, teaching and research purposes.
The Libraries Deanship: Three major packages of e-books, in addition to the Ebrary subscription have
been added to the collection of approximately 140,000 e-books. In 2012/13, the Deanship added 39
electronic education journals chosen by the Faculty of Education and subscribed to EduSearch (an
Arabic database) which contains around 240 education journals and conference proceedings. They
also subscribed to MathSciNet, a mathematical database providing access to mathematical reviews,
abstracts and bibliographic information. Additionally, they subscribed to Choice Reviews Online, an
e-journal publishing over 7,000 reviews a year of academic books, electronic media, and Internet
resources for collection development and scholarly research. Now, the Library subscribes to more than
50 scholarly electronic journal packages and databases, holding over 38,000 e-journals and more than
140,000 e-books.
