universities to enroll in subjects at the host institutions for credit which will be applied towards their
degree programs at their home institutions. In 2012/13 ten undergraduate students from Japan,
Germany, Spain, and France studied at UAEU while four UAEU undergraduate students studied for one
to two semesters in Japan, USA, Germany and Finland.
PhD student, Dalal Al Shamsi from the College of Science spent three weeks at Denmark Technical
University (DTU) to conduct further research on radioactive analyses for her groundwater and soil
samples research project.
Additionally, four students from the Food Science Department visited Osnabruck University of Science
& Technology, Germany, and attended a special summer program in Food Technology.
Fifteen US law students visited UAEU for a two-week long program entitled ‘Al Safeer’ which aimed to
forge ties between the United States and the United Arab Emirates and more particularly between their
respective legal communities. Some of the law schools where the visiting students are enrolled include:
Harvard University, Georgetown University, Boston University, amongst others.
