American Corner

The mission of the American Studies Corner (ASC) is to be a partner in promoting mutual understanding between the US and the United Arab Emirates University, and the UAE in general.

The goals of the ASC are to provide up-to-date information on the U.S. and to create a convenient location:

For accessing authoritative information about the United States by United Arab Emirates University students and faculty, and the general public;
For Americans and Emiratis to share ideas and learn about each other’s society and values via resources and lectures presented by experts provided by the U.S. Embassy and the University:
To provide information on studying and doing business in the U.S., English language study, and American history, life and culture.

The collection includes a variety of print and electronic formats, and is continuously developed through the acquisition of resources. Currently, there are more than 700 resources in different subjects available and openly accessible to users. The core collection consists of the following information resources:
