UAEU Leadership Highlights the Role of Emirati Women in Shaping the Future

On the occasion of Emirati Women’s Day, the leadership of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) highlighted the remarkable achievements of Emirati women, emphasizing that their accomplishments reflect the steadfast vision of the UAE’s wise leadership in empowering women and strengthening their role as key partners in the nation’s development and in shaping its future.

His Excellency Zaki Anwar Nusseibeh, Cultural Adviser to H.H the President of the UAE and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, said: “On Emirati Women’s Day, we celebrate a longstanding legacy of giving and achievement, and the role of women as equal partners in building the UAE and shaping its future. This journey was established by the Founding Father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may he rest in peace, who believed in women’s capabilities and recognized that their participation and empowerment are fundamental to building the nation and advancing its progress.

“Emirati women continue to receive the attention and unwavering support of our wise leadership. Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, Mother of the Nation, Chairwoman of the General Women’s Union, Supreme Chairwoman of the Family Development Foundation, and President of the Supreme Council for Motherhood and Childhood, has played a pivotal role in supporting Emirati women and strengthening their role alongside men in the UAE’s development and advancement.

“Through their knowledge, competence, and ambition, Emirati women have demonstrated their ability to contribute effectively across diverse fields of work and knowledge, inspired by the confidence of the wise leadership and its belief in people as the foundation of progress and prosperity.”

He concluded: “At the United Arab Emirates University, we take great pride in the achievements of Emirati women and their continued contributions to serving the nation and shaping a more advanced and sustainable future.”

For his part, H.E. Prof.  Ahmed Ali Al Raisi, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, said: “Emirati Women’s Day is a national occasion through which we celebrate the journey of Emirati women and their remarkable contributions across various fields of development. Over five decades, the United Arab Emirates University has served as a national platform for preparing generations of highly qualified Emirati women who have contributed to the nation’s development and assumed influential roles across vital sectors, both within the UAE and abroad.

“Today, the role of Emirati women extends beyond access to opportunities to encompass a more influential role in generating knowledge, driving innovation, and developing solutions that serve society and contribute to building a competitive and sustainable economy.”
