The theater in the Continuing Education Center at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) was the venue for the graduation of 300 high school students (both male and female), from schools in Al Ain City that were enrolled in the Sayfuna Mumayaz Program-Injaz 2015. This program was organized by the Abu Dhabi Education Council in cooperation with the Continuing Education Center at UAEU. The graduation ceremony was attended by various organizing authorities on the morning of Thursday 13th August 2015.

Ms. Ashqaq Al Khalidi, a senior media specialist and the program director, was quoted as saying that the graduation was the result of the work and continuous efforts of the program team over the past three weeks. The team engaged the students in useful activities that contributed to developing personal skills and self-sufficiency, most especially in English language (an IELTS preparation program), information technology, robotics, electronic program design and the future leaders program. All of these programs introduced students to other investors and stakeholders in the academic, scientific, and training fields at the Continuing Education Center at UAEU.

Ms. Al Khalidi added that the Program had achieved its goals which were designed to guide students; to equip them with various scientific, cultural, social, sporting, professional and heritage related knowledge and skills, as well as instill the values of voluntary work and stress the importance of preserving the environment.

She thanked those who had contributed to the success of the program and helped it meet its objectives. This included the Continuing Education Center at UAEU, the Al Ain Sports Club, the Dr. Nutrition Center, other contributors and also parents.

Mr. Abdullah Al Awadi, the program manager in the Continuing Education Center, stressed that the summer program was a good way to make use of the summer vacation. This year’s program was quite diverse and included events that focused heavily on the needs of students from the eighth to the eleventh grade, especially in terms of developing knowledge and skills that are consistent with the vision and objectives of UAEU in preparing a generation of students able to face future challenges. In addition, it was a good opportunity for students to become familiar with college life, to interact with academics and benefit from their rich experience. This will help them to choose their scientific specializations later on and so begin university life with solid foundations and suitable course choices.
