UAEU Students Present Innovative Applications for Smart Management

The College of Information Technology at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) recently hosted presentations by Master's students. These presentations dealt with innovative software application for digital media. The event was conducted in the presence of Dr. Shayma Al Kobaisi, Dean of the College of Information Technology, and both faculty and students as part of the college’s software development program in collaboration with Western University and DEX.

Dr. Al Kobaisi stated that,  “UAEU works to support innovations in areas of national importance. This is alongside ongoing technical and human resource development as these two factors enhance leadership and excellence in scientific research, which in turn, enhances the role of the college in promoting an innovative environment. This is especially important in this year of innovation and makes a positive contribution to the spread and enrichment of knowledge in the wider community through cooperation with relevant parties”.

Dr. Al Kobaisi further commended the strategic partnership with Cooperative Distributed Systems from Western University in Canada and Digital Engagement Xperience – DEX. Their cooperation is pivotal in providing scientific and practical experience to the students which makes a positive contribution to their scientific knowledge base as well as increasing their practical experience in many areas such as interactive learning.

Students, under the supervision of Dr. Abdul Mutalib Wahaishi, Assistant Professor of Software Development, were able to apply new principles and modern methodology in the design and development of software systems based on the integration and connectivity of programs and applications by a third party. This is done via the support of what is known as the cloud computing model. This promotes the development of smart applications which the students are able to implement due to collaborative interactive learning with experts and engineers who are specialized in the field. They can provide new, innovative ways of teaching that keeps pace with the latest global developments in the fields of science and technology.
