UAE University achieved 100% in transformation of its services into electronic and smart ones

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of UAE University, stressed out that the University, since its inception, has been a pioneer in the adoption of the wise leadership initiatives and in supporting the community with the national expertise and competencies that have affected the national labor market for decades, as its leading mission is to positively contribute to the progress of the UAE, and provide educational services with international standards and research solutions in strategic areas for the State. The University's response to the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, was quick and complementary to the process of the University in the field of transformation of its services into smart ones, in order to make it easy for the students and customer, and save time and effort.

This came after the report received by the University, which stated that the result of the percentage of electronic /smart transformation of priority services provided to the individuals and business sector, which are able to be transformed into smart ones, is 100%, which is the University’s response to implement the smart government initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Initiative Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, from May 22nd, 2013, until May 21st, 2015.

His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan pointed out that the University has adopted a development plan for all its services within performance indicators associated with global standards, and set goals for its staff, through which it seeks to provide research solutions to all the challenges facing the local, regional, and international community, and communicate effectively in the relevant fields by activating the various communication policies and channels with all groups, including "students, staff, partners, suppliers, and the local and international community", and this is achieved through the development of services and interactive channels, especially the smart ones, after the UAE has become a reference in the index of advanced services, easy access to them, and benefitting from them, in implementation of the vision of the wise leadership to enable all citizens, residents, and visitors to complete all their transactions via the mobile phone.

For his part, Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of the UAE University, said that the University’s response to the initiative of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum to transform into a smart government was quick, as the University worked on achieving this smart transformation under the directives of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Chancellor of the University, who believes that that the UAE University is a pioneer and capable of developing and strengthening the spirit of innovation, initiative, and excellence, and the application of global best practices in all the university works and services provided to its students, staff, and all customers.

Dr. Al Noaimi explained that the total services that entered within the evaluation of the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) and received full assessment are eight main services; request to enroll in a Master's program, request to enroll in a PhD program, request to transfer between colleges, registration of a course, withdrawal or addition of a course, electronic library service, provision of student accommodation, and research funding service.

TRA relies on the percentage of electronic/smart transformation index which consists of three main areas; the availability and development of services on the portal, availability and development of services via the mobile, and access to the service channels. The stakeholders at the University worked to achieve these indicators within the target of 100%, and then received (100%) as final evaluation by the TRA.
