The United Arab Emirates University organizes a brainstorming session with the Securities and Commodities Authority

As part of Innovation Week:
The College of Law at the United Arab Emirates University organized a brainstorming session with a delegation from the Securities and Commodities Authority as part of Innovation Week. It was held on campus on Tuesday 24th of November 2015 with students and faculty in attendance.
This is part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between the university and the authority to reinforce cooperation, innovation and the mutual benefits of working together. A number of faculty and students took part in a discussion about several main topics: distance legal issues, investigative issues and the electronic self-assessment system for brokerage firms.
Participants developed ideas and proposed solutions to these issues. Both sides also agreed on further cooperation in research, training, seminars and workshops. At the end of the session it was agreed to propose a contest for law professors.
The Securities and Commodities Authority was represented by Rafia Abdullah Al Suweidi, Head of Operations and the Technical Support Department; Khalid Omar Bazuhair, Deputy Head of the Institutional Excellence Department, and Mohammed Hussein Mahmoud, a senior financial inspector.
