The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University held its second advisory board meeting

The College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the UAEU

The second meeting of the Advisory Board of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University was held on Sunday October 18, 2015, in Al Ain.

Dr. Saif Al Qaydi, dean of the college, welcomed the attendees and stressed the important role played by the board in supporting college plans and students. This is to help in serving the overall strategy of UAEU and the university’s overriding mission.

During the meeting, a short film about the college was shown, and new plans and programs were discussed. They also discussed preparation for the WASC Foundation academic accreditation visit; a proposal to match research programs to the requirements of the labor market; training opportunities for students, and proposals for the promotion of college programs.

As well as the dean other participants included: Jasem Mohammed Al Darmaki, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Tourism and Culture Authority (elected president of the board); Sharif Habib Al Awadi, Director General of the Fujairah Free Zone Authority (appointed vice president); Khaled Saleh Al Malihi, CEO of Bayanat Mapping and Surveying Services, and Dr. Saif Al Mahrouqi, Vice Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at UAEU.
