The United Arab Emirates University hosts the first national forum called ‘UAE - home of loyalty, triumph and achievement’ using Yemen as a model

Under the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Hamdan Bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research and Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research organized the first national forum (UAE - home of loyalty, triumph and achievement’ using Yemen as a model, on Monday 26^th of November 2015 in the Crescent Building at UAEU.

The Forum was attended by Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, Vice Chancellor of the university; Mr. Saeed Al Rumaithi, a member of the National Council; Mr. Mohammed Al Hameli, Chairman of the organizing committee and also national service recruits and students.

The forum reflected the role of UAEU as the national university with a key role in promoting loyalty and a sense of belonging. UAEU seeks to highlight the role of the national leadership in protecting the nation.

Dr. Sultan Al Nuaimi, faculty at Abu Dhabi University and expert on Iranian affairs, stressed national security and discussed how to strengthen it through contact with neighboring, regional and international states. He mentioned the honorable role played by the UAE in Operation Decisive Storm” to restore hope and improve security in the region. He addressed the Yemen issue noting that Yemen’s security is integral to Arab and international security.

Sheikh Waseem Yousef from the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Khateeb thanked the brave Emirati soldiers for protecting the UAE. He said that people should, “have loyalty to the homeland”, regardless of sect as this does not preclude loyalty to the nation and its protection. He stressed that the UAE enjoys a secure position and ended by addressing national service recruits. He called them “Dear soldiers” and added that they were a, “strong bulwark for the nation and have determination in your hearts.”
