United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) - Top Universities in Middle East

On the morning of Monday 14th September, 2015 the Student Activities Department at the United Arab Emirates University organized a three day exhibition on the available clubs and student groups at the university. It was held in the College of Information Technology on the Al Ain campus. The aim of the exhibition was to introduce students and visitors to the various clubs and student activities at UAEU in order to encourage participation in the many scientific, literary, cultural and artistic clubs.

Mrs. Khadija Al Naqbi, Head of the Student Affairs Deanship at UAEU, stressed that the aim of the event is to encourage students to develop their talents and to encourage them to participate in student clubs. They will also be able to engage with a culture of volunteering through certain of these clubs.

She added that these activities can help to develop additional skills in terms of communication and building relationships. This in turn increases self-confidence, develops and refines skills and helps to prepare students for the labor market. She went on to say that many of the clubs represented credit hours, were vital experiences and often issued certificates which might give the participants an edge in the job market.

Ms. Amina Al Ketbi, the supervisor of the exhibition, stated that it included a range of activities and a presentation by each club. The students showcased their experiences with these clubs, and highlighted participation both at and outside of the university. There are 36 student clubs in total (20 for female students: 16 for male students).

There was a good turnout from both students and faculty. Everyone expressed their pleasure that such clubs and activities add a freshness to the new academic year.
