The United Arab Emirates University launched the ‘Combating Drugs with the Pen’ competition in cooperation with Dubai Police in the Business Hall of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences in a press conference on Monday, February 15^th, 2016.

Dr. Saif Al Qaydi, Dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences said that, “We thank Dubai Police for choosing UAEU to launch this competition to raise awareness of the dangers of drugs among young people to help society.”

Lt. Colonel Dr. Juma Sultan Al Shamsi, Director of the Department of Drug Awareness and Prevention at the Dubai Police thanked UAEU for hosting this initiative saying, “This competition will support efforts to generate ideas to combat drug use among young people who are the most vulnerable to drugs. This will educate young people while enhancing cooperation between the Dubai Police and UAEU.”

A joint committee from the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and Dubai Police will evaluate the competition after the deadline of mid-January 2017. Dubai Police will offer 3 cash prizes to the wining students.
