The United Arab Emirates University launches the ‘Sehati’ program to spread awareness of health issues

The Student Activities Department at the United Arab Emirates University launched its ‘Sehati’ program on Monday, February 22nd, 2016 in the theater of the crescent building on the Maqam Campus. It’s part of UAE Vision 2021 to create a healthy society. The program was launched in the presence of representatives from the Health Authority - Abu Dhabi and UAEU.
The Program aims to promote awareness of health, raise fitness and disseminate a sports culture that includes the ethics and values of positive competition. There are a range of programs and events designed to promote the concept of a healthy mind and a healthy body.
This reflects the university's role in promoting good health among students. This contributes to their development and preparing them for the future. As well as promoting environmental and health awareness this initiative promotes a partnership between the university and government institutions in order to promote community health.
The opening ceremony included a speech and the winning student in the logo competition received their prize. There was also a workshop presented by Dr. Aysha Al Dhaheri, Director of Health Education from the Public Health and Research Department of the Health Authority in Abu Dhabi, which aimed to educate and warn about unhealthy behaviour.
