The United Arab Emirates University holds a brainstorming session on smart education

The College of Sciences and the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning at the United Arab Emirates University held a brainstorming session on the shift to smart education organized on Thursday 11th of February 2016 on the male campus. Dr. Ahmed Murad, Dean of the College of Science; Dr. Hassan Salem, Director of the Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning, and other heads of academic departments and faculty were present.
Dr. Murad said, “The session’s aims are to discuss a strategy to shift to smart teaching in courses offered by the college, as well as to discuss the challenges of such a move, especially as this shift is one of the UAEU’s major initiatives.”
The session discussed strategies for teaching and how to adapt the curriculum to be part of the process of positive change in the five elective courses offered by the college. The mission of the college is to adopt the best e-learning methods in order to raise the quality of higher education and create a supportive environment for innovative ideas.
Attendees stressed the need for cooperation in the development of the teaching methods that serve students and the educational process. This should provide the opportunity and tools for growth and development. The college also seeks to attain international academic accreditation in line with international standards.
