Mon, 6 June 2022
The Professional Development Office in the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) concluded a series of workshops for vocational training students. A total of 160 students attended. The workshops were conducted at UAEU over two days, (19-20 January 2016), in the theater in the Crescent Building.
The workshops included workplace ethics, career ethics, CV writing and preparation for their practical training experience. This helped them to acquire the skills and tools they will need for the UAE labor market. Vocational training works by building a link between theoretical studies and practical applications. This enables students to explore future careers and understand the developments and changes that occur in the labor market. They undertake this training at UAEU’s strategic partner institutions.
Dr. Hamzeh Dodeen, Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychology, conducted the CV and Job Interview Workshop. He explained how the students can market themselves through their CVs and at interviews. Dr. Hassan Ali, a professor from the University College, identified work ethics and etiquette. As for career ethics, principles and foundations, they were identified and explained by Ms. Maitha Al Shamsi, a self-efficiency development trainer.
