The United Arab Emirates University concludes the annual College of Food and Agriculture festival

The College of Food and Agriculture at the United Arab Emirates University concluded their annual festival on Wednesday 2^nd March 2016 in the Crescent Building at UAEU. Professor Afaf Kamal-Eldin, Dean of the College of Food and Agriculture, faculty, students, other participants and sponsors were all in attendance.

The event was opened by a speech from the dean followed by activities which lasted for three days. There were a variety of activities and events. There was a photography contest; a brains contest; an indoor plants competition and many other events. The winners of the various contests, other participants, sponsors and the organizing committee were all honored.

The Food Science Department organized a workshop for female students on how to produce different types of bread from a single type of flour. In order to create a fun atmosphere the college held an ‘East Meets West’ which included a concert by the Art House School that mixed Eastern and Western music. This lasted for an hour on a specially designed stage. Other events included a walking race for staff and students which raised awareness of the importance of walking.

These events are part of the university’s focus on student success, continuous learning, the exchange of knowledge, the value of a healthy environment, cooperation and teamwork.
