The United Arab Emirates University celebrates the 45th National Day

UAEU organized a varied celebratory program during this week to celebrate the 45th National Day of the UAE State. The activities started with a student procession headed by Dr. Ghaleb Al Hadrami, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Research and Graduate Studies, Professor Faeqa Hilal, Secretary General of the university and Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Deputy Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and Enrollment. A number of faculty members and many students of the University also participated, as an expression of their love and loyalty to the nation’s wise leadership.
The celebratory program included many academic and administrative events, which expressed the joy of citizens on this historic day. The 45th National Day platform was unveiled in the Crescent building, which included a performance by a military band, traditional folk dances and various competitions for school students. A heritage exhibition was also staged that symbolized the culture of the UAE, and an art exhibition held in cooperation with Al Qasimia University in Sharjah. In addition, there were tournaments and sports competitions, organized by the Student Activities association with school and university students’ participation.
A students singing operetta was performed, where students of UAEU expressed their feelings of national pride, in addition to a national poetry evening, with the participation of the poets, Shaer Al Asifa and Khamis bin Blaisha Al Ketbi, who presented national poems, which won the audience’s affection.
The events concluded with the Watani Al Emarat Festival, in a special ceremony at UAEU Multaqa, organized by Student Activities. This reflected the national and cultural heritage of the UAE State, which included a film about the Union of the United Arab Emirates, a traditional food presentation, a heritage exhibition, a falconry show and various other heritage contests, aimed to strengthen and develop patriotism, and reflect the happiness of UAEU family on this special 45th National Day.
