UAEU Finishes Preparations for the New Academic Year 2017/2018

His Excellency, Professor Mohamed Albaili, UAEU Vice Chancellor, hosted a group of media representatives in his office at UAEU campus yesterday morning Aug. 9th, in the presence of Professor Ghaleb Ali Al Hadrami, the Interim Deputy Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs & Provost, and Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, Deputy VC for Student Affairs & Enrollment. During the meeting, H.E Albaili spoke about the completion of the preparation for the incoming students reception of 3,695 new students from different Emirates.

“UAEU is reviewing and developing all the programs to prepare for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. Today we are working on adapting the programs to the needs of the future job market to make our university, ‘The University of the Future’. This is in line with the directions of our wise government to look ahead to the future and create a better tomorrow. This academic year, students will enroll in new programs offered at UAEU such as Health and Physical Education and Space Engineering. There are also changes in IT programs to make them more specialized and to respond to the needs of the UAE and global labor market," said Prof. Albaili.

H.E. Albaili added: “The prestigious high rank UAEU achieved in the QS World University Rankings is not a goal but rather a result of our effort and achievements and the continuous development of our programs and scientific research. This enhanced the local and international reputation of the university. UAEU reinforces the significance of innovation and transferring knowledge of national and global importance.”

Dr. Ali Al Kaabi, said that UAEU is ready to welcome the new students next week during the ‘Orientation Week’ and that all classrooms and laboratories are prepared and fully equipped with state-of-the-art technology to enhance the quality of teaching and learning. During the Orientation Week, which will be held from Saturday Aug. 12th through Thursday Aug. 17th, 2017, UAEU will run two programs: “Marhaba Al Sa’a” and “New Student Festival” in addition to many other activities at UAEU and the residential units. The number of students officially registered in UAEU for this academic year is 3,695. 2,938 female and 757 male, who will be distributed across the nine colleges of the university.
