UAEU Start-Up Bezeo Announced Winners of the Singularity University MENA Global Impact Challenge 2017

Bezeo, a start-up from United Arab Emirates University’s Science and Innovation Park, was announced the winners of the Singularity University MENA Global Impact Challenge and were selected for the Global Solutions Program GSP 2017, a 9-week immersive residential experience at their campus at NASA Research Park, California.
The Singularity MENA Global Impact Challenge fosters moonshot innovations and start-ups
that positively impact the lives of people living in the MENA region, with an ability
to scale and impact a billion people worldwide within 10 years.
The 2017 challenge was focused on developing a start-up company that is addressing
climate change. This is precisely what Bezeo is targeting. Bezeo developed an environmental
friendly carpet, which can harvest energy from different movements and the energy
generated can then be used to power different electrical devices. Thus reducing the
need for other non-renewable energy sources, which will in turn reduce greenhouse
gas emissions.
As the winders of this challenge is to secure a full sponsorship to attend the transformational Global Solutions Program at Singularity University. on the SU campus at NASA Research Park.
The company co-founders include: Maitha Jumaa Al Kaab; Zinab Ahmed Al Haddad; Razan Youssef Kharouf and Hamda Ahmed Al Derei. Bezeo will begin their 9-week program from June 17 to August 17, 2017.
