UAEU organizes the Architecture Festival

The College of Engineering at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized the Architecture Festival in the Garden of the College of Engineering at UAEU’s Campus. The event attended by professor Sabah Alkass, Dean of the College of Engineering, faculty members, students and a number of government and private companies in UAE.

Dr.  Sahera Bleibleh, Assistant Professor in the Architecture Department, explained that the festival is an opportunity to exchange knowledge and expertise between companies’ officials, and Engineering students and graduates. It aims to educate students of the significance of recycling in Engineering in general and Architecture in particular.

Dr. Blaiblaih stated that the college’s students participated in the accompanying exhibition through showcasing their architectural works. “These works are testaments that the abilities and bright ideas of youth will greatly contribute to the file d of Architecture.

The festival included an exhibition of students’ works including models and paintings, created by using environmental wastes, recycled to be used in an ideal and safe way.

Alongside the festival, Eng. Lubnah Senan, General Director of Milio Engineering Consultancy in Abu Dhabi, discussed the importance of environmental sciences in Architecture as recycling is considered one of major element in environmental sustainability. At the conclusion of the conference, an open discussion was held between students and Engineering specialists on the recycling and sustainability.
