Under the patronage of H.E. Professor Mohammed Albaili, UAEU Vice Chancellor, the Department of Mathematical Sciences at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is organizing the Second International Conference on Groups, Group Rings, and Related Topics (GGRRT 2017) which will be held at the Oceanic Hotel, Khorfakkan, UAE during 19-22 Nov. 2017.

 Around 70 researchers from 20 countries and Faculty from local and international universities will participate in the conference’s sessions. The participants will discuss the Groups, Group Rings, algebra and related topics, and a session will be dedicated to discuss the applications of algebra in different fields. Coding systems is one of the conference’s topics, and is considered a vital part in the communication security and the main factor affecting building a secure code system. 

Professor Ahmed Murad, Dean of the College of Science and a member in the UAE Scientists Council, explained that organizing this conference is part of the College’s efforts to enhance scientific research in the college and the university as mathematics is one of the basic sciences, which plays an important role in the applications of many other sciences and Engineering. This conference shows the role of the college in promoting scientific knowledge in the UAE society through hosting Algebra specialists and researchers from across the globe. Prof. Murad pointed out that the college has a strategic plan of hosting and organizing various scientific conferences that serves different UAE national strategies and promotes the plan of science, technology and innovation.
