The College of Information Technology (CIT) at the University of the United Arab Emirates (UAEU) obtained Re-Accreditation of its Bachelor of Science in Information Technology program until the year 2022-2023 from the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET. This accreditation comes as a recognition of the quality of the IT program offered by the College and to ensure that the program meets the highest international standards required.
Professor Khaled Ali Shuaib, Acting Dean of the College, said: “This re-accreditation from ABET of the BSc in IT program is real evidence of the quality of the program learning outcomes and the agility of the offered curriculum in meeting the highest international standards. This will enforce students’ trust in their education at UAEU and enable them to enter the job market ready to work from day one. In addition, the accreditation will provide the students with better opportunities to pursue their graduate studies at top ranked universities”
The other recently introduced and offered CIT BSc programs in Information Security, Computer Science and Computer Engineering, are also being prepared for international accreditation which is aligned with the 2017-2021 vision of UAEU to internationally accredit offered programs at the University. This shows the dedication of the UAEU to provide the best education possible to its students based on the highest international educational standards.
The CIT takes this opportunity to thank the UAEU Vice Chancellor, H.E. Professor Mohamed Albaili and the UAEU Provost, Professor Ghaleb Al Hadrami, for their continuous support of the college and for their supervision and leadership to ensure that only the highest standards are being followed and implemented at the UAEU.
