On the occasion of World Food Day, the College of Food and Agriculture at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) in collaboration with Emirates Red Crescent organized a Dried Food Donation Campaign. The campaign aims to introduce to the students to the problems of malnutrition and hunger worldwide.
Dr. Mohammed Al Yehyaei, faculty member at the College of Food and Agriculture, highlighted the significance of such campaigns within the university community to shed light on the importance of food investment and to promote the awareness of food security. The World Food Day, which falls on 16 October, is a chance to show our commitment to the eradication of hunger around the world.
The campaign, which will continue throughout the week, also included setting up a collection box to donate money and dried food at UAEU and there was a large turnout of UAEU students, faculty and staff.
