Professor Mohammed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), attended the Worldskills Competition 2017. Entitled ‘Skills and Strategies for a Globalized World’, the event took place in Abu Dhabi. The conference was attended by prominent figures from government institutions, industry, international organizations and academic institutions who discussed the opportunities and challenges presented by the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

Following his tour of the exhibition Professor Albaili highlighted the importance of developing skills in various fields that promote economic development, and meet the needs and face the challenges of the Fourth Industrial revolution.

“The vision of our national leadership, who trust young people in the UAE to develop their skills has pushed the UAE to the forefront of global competition. The youth of the UAE are equipped with the skills to be leaders in the future.”

He expressed his pleasure that such a gathering was taking place in Abu Dhabi. This contributes to striking a balance between academic and professional education. Innovation is also enhanced in a positive and competitive environment.
