The College of Information Technology (CIT) at the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) launched the activities of the IT Open Day for UAE school students, aiming at discovering IT talented students, attracting distinguished students and introducing them to the CIT academic programs. Students had the opportunity to meet with CIT faculty to listen to their advice and have their queries on studying IT at CIT answered. 

Professor Khaled Shuaib, Acting Dean of CIT, explained that the IT Open Day is an important awareness initiative to introduce school students to the CIT academic programs, studying nature, facilities, and state-of-art labs. The event also encourages students to choose an IT major that is in line with the UAE strategic plan and that helps meet the ambitions of smart systems transformation.
