The Internship and Career Development Unit of the College of Business and Economics (CBE) at United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) organized the Fourth Career Guidance Forum for the college’s senior students who are about to have their internship program. The event, which was held in the Crescent Building at UAEU Campus, hosted elite experts from the government and public sectors.
Dr. Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Assistant Dean for Student Affairs and Professional Development, CBE, explained that the Fourth Career Guidance Forum aims to prepare students to efficiently be involved in the internship experience and become an effective element in the job market. He added that the college is keen on hosting distinguished people from the job market to share their experiences and expertise and help students benefit from and apply them in their internship program and career life.
The participants in the forum briefed the students on the institutions they are working for and the internship and job opportunities available there. Mr. Khalid Al Marzooqi, Head of Al Ain Branch of Khalifa Fund, presented about how to establish a successful business and mentioned some of the successful businesses the fund had assisted. Abeer Hawash, Director of Morgan International, defined ‘positive intelligence’ and its importance in achieving self-satisfaction and career success, and listed a number of strategies that enable an individual to develop their positive intelligence, which will ultimately reflect positively on them.
Mr. Saif Al Darmaki, Performance Development Advisor at Abu Dhabi Economic Development Department, gave an overview about his entity, highlighting the job and internship opportunities they provide, one of which is ‘Takharaji’ Initiative, which was well received by students at the forum.
