UAEU leaders meet with faculty to shape the university’s future

Professor Mohamed Albaili, Vice Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University (UAEU), held on 7th March 2018 in the Auditorium of the Crescent Building, UAEU, an open meeting with the UAEU faculty and the College Deans in the presence of H.E. Dr. Ali Rashid Al Noaimi, UAEU Chancellor.
The meeting aimed to foresight the UAEU’s future vision and present its strategic plan for the Academic Year 2017/2018 academic year at the local and international levels.
In his opening speech, H.E. Dr. Al Noaimi welcomed the attendees and wished them further success in their journey of disseminating knowledge, employing modern, and innovative teaching methods. He showcased the main strategic topics that constitute the basis of the university’s future plans to lead the UAE development process of Higher Education and research.
H.E. Dr. Al Noaimi stressed that the UAE leadership promotes the role of the UAE higher education and research institutions, as a strategic option for building the UAE knowledge-based economy in the fourth industrial revolution era.
Inspired by the Late Sheikh Zayed, H.E. Dr. Al Noaimi highlighted the national role of UAEU since its establishment in 1976, making it a knowledge beacon and a center for preparing national cadres capable of enhancing UAE’s development process.
Professor Albaili pointed out, “ UAEU’s vision is stemmed from the UAE vision to effectively contribute to building the UAE knowledge-based economy and enhance the UAE’s higher education and research plan in line with the standards of the UAE strategic plan of 2030. This can be achieved by UAEU faculty developing innovative initiatives and conducting new scientific research to publish in international prestigious journals.”
He also presented the local, regional and international initiatives launched by the University of the Future (UAEU) to promote its status on the international higher education and research map, and encouraged all to establish further initiatives in collaboration with the university’s strategic partners.
At the end of the meeting, the floor was opened for the faculty to give their insights on what is required for the university’s coming academic journey.
