The United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) is the first government university in the UAE to be awarded a five-star overall rating in the QS Stars University Ratings, which will remain valid for three years.
The QS Stars is a rating system that provides a detailed look at an institution, and identifies which universities are the best in specific areas. The system allows students to get a wider picture of the qualities of universities around the world, looking at everything from the teaching and research qualities to employability of graduates, sports facilities and community engagement. The QS Stars audit evaluates an institution against more than 50 different indicators.
This achievement shows the continuous improvement of the university and how the flagship higher education institute in the UAE, is on the right track to achieving its strategic plan in line with the progress of the country and the UAE leadership’s interest in higher education. UAEU ‘The University of the Future’ continues in its pursuit of excellence to enhance its international academic reputation through focusing on quality research, cultural diversity, innovation and areas of strategic significance to achieving sustainable society development.
Mr Ashwin Fernandes, Regional Director for QS, said “I am delighted to announce that United Arab Emirates University was rated 5 Stars in a recently concluded audit of the institution under the QS Stars Rating system. This achievement in the Year of Zayed shows the impact of the footsteps and initiatives of the Founding Father of the UAE.
