UAEU signs MoU with NCEMA

 United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) signed on Sunday 9th Sept. 2018 a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA), with the aim of establishing strategic partnership and enhancing collaboration between the two parties. 

The MoU was signed by H.E. Prof. Mohamed Albaili, UAEU Vice Chancellor, and H.E. Dr. Jamal Mohamed Al Hosani, NCEMA Director General at UAEU in Al Ain, where the two parties had a tour of the UAEU’s National Space Science and Technology Center and Science and Innovation Park following the signing ceremony.

H.E. Prof. Albaili stressed the significance of this MoU, being in line with UAE leadership’s directions and strategic plans of enhancing work systems in all UAE’s institutions and organizations. The MoU also aims to employ collaborative efforts to achieve UAE 2021 vision and build effective partnership to achieve common objectives.

“Research and innovation are our main focus at UAEU, where academic programs are offered in accordance with accredited academic standards,” explained Prof. Albaili. “This collaboration aims to transform theoretical knowledge into practice to benefit various government entities and the society at large. It will also enable us to provide high-quality consultancy to different executive bodies.”

For his part, H.E. Dr. Al Hosani, affirmed the importance of this MoU in conducting specialized research studies that benefit both parties, pointing out that NCEMA continues to sign MoUs with different partners to ensure its readability to respond to any emergency incident, being one of the authority’s main objectives stated in its strategic plans. He explained that the collaboration with UAEU will help exchange expertise in conducting research and statistics to develop the outcomes of the joint work.

“NCEMA constantly seeks to promote partnerships to avail of national specialized expertise and enhance society institutions’ involvement in supporting the authority’s efforts.”

Dr. Al Hosani also commended the pioneering role the UAEU plays in building national cadres to be capable of contributing to the country’s development in various fields, while providing a unique environment that encourages innovation and creativity and prepares graduates to the job market.
