H.E. Saeed Ahmed Ghobash , Chancellor of the United Arab Emirates University, presided over the second meeting of the University Council for the academic year 2019/2020 on Wednesday, 08/01/2020 at the University's headquarters in Al Ain

The council membership includes: HE Eissa Abdulfattah Kazim, Governor of Dubai International Financial Centre, HE Saeed Rashid Al-Yateem  , Under Secretary of the Ministry of Finance , HE Dr. Mohammad Salim Al Ulama, Under-secretary of the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, HE Dr. Mohammed Nasser Al Ahbabi, Director General of the UAE Space Agency , HE Dr. Abdullah Mohammed

Al-Karam, Director General of the Knowledge and Human Development Authority, Government of Dubai, HE Humaid Abdullah Al-Shammari, Deputy Group CEO and Chief Human Capital and Corporate Officer, Mubadala Investment Company, HE Dr. Mohammad Ali Al-Shuraani, Prof. Ghaleb Ali Al Hadrami Al Breiki, Acting Vice Chancellor, Dr. Asma Abu Bakr Al-Menhali, College of Science, UAEU,  Dr. Mohammed Sulaiman Al-Houqani, College of Medicine and Health Sciences, UAEU, Dr. Shamma Juma Al Falasi - College of Humanities and Social Sciences, UAEU, and Dr. Mohammed Al Suweidi- College of Business and Economics, UAEU.

The Council has addressed a number of important topics ,it has reviewed and approved the university’s updated strategy, the university’s budget for the year 2020, the admission policy for the academic year 2020/2021, and the update of a number of academic programs such as the Bachelor’s Program in Statistics and the Master's program in Governance and Politics, in addition to other topics which will take part to improving the leadership and excellence of the UAEU "the university of the future"
