UAEU listed in the Leiden Ranking

UAE University has been listed in this year s release of the 2021 Leiden Ranking https://www.leidenranking.com. The Leiden Ranking lists the world s top universities according to a variety of indicators chosen by the user, thereby producing multiple different rankings. UAE University is the leading national institution on international collaborative research publications (82%), the proportion of papers published in open access journals (50%). The Leiden Ranking also includes a listing of authors by gender where UAEU is now the second highest ranked institution among GCC universities on the proportion of female authored papers.
The Leiden Ranking offers important insights into the scientific performance of over 1,200 major universities worldwide using advanced bibliometric indicators. Produced by the Centre for Scientific & Technical Studies (CWTS) at Leiden University, CWTS enriches Web of Science data in a number of ways such as performing its own citation matching identifying industrial collaborations and geocoding of the addresses listed in publications. The Leiden Ranking is calculated from a subset of the Web of Science produced by Clarivate Analytics representing the highest impact journals.
The UAE University is a leading comprehensive university in the region. The University, which was established in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, may Allah bless his soul, enrols around 14,000 students in nine colleges, taught by more than 900 faculty members. It offers 90 diverse academic degrees at the doctorate, Masters, and Bachelor s levels. UAEU aspires to be a University for the Future, with a research-intensive mission that contributes to the UAE government s efforts towards realizing the UAE Vision 2021.
