The CIT has co-hosted both the BCI & NEUROTECHNOLOGY SPRING SCHOOL 2022 and the VIRTUAL BR41N.IO HACKATHON from April 25 to May 4, 2022. Dr. Abdelkader N Belkacem was invited as a keynote speaker at the spring school with 5309 attendees from 107 countries, Dr. Belkacem gave a talk entitled "Humanoid robot control with BCIs" and one of his student teams won the second price (2nd BR41N.IO Prize is $ 600) in the hackathon by developing a BCI-based smart house control where they could turn on/off the light and water pump using only their brain signal.
UAEU is one of the hosts who provided EEG equipment, robots, and all needed facilities for students and hackers in their labs. The hackathon had hosts from Canada, the USA, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, Romania, Austria, and Italy who hosted the www.br41n.io BCI Hackathon.
